Deixar o Karate

(2026)

Available for Touring

Miguel Castro Caldas and Pedro Gil are theatre artists who, by chance, also practiced karate. They decided to make that coincidence the starting point for Deixar o Karate [Leaving Karate].

People who practice karate are often asked, “Have you ever had to use karate in real life?” But no one ever asks, “Have you ever used life in karate?” Likewise, no one asks an actor, “Have you ever used karate in theatre?” Or, “Have you ever used theatre in karate?” Or even, “Theatre in life?”.

For Miguel and Pedro, however, these are precisely the questions that make sense.
