The Castro Women

(2023)

Available for Touring

Raquel Castro’s family tree is the starting point for As Castro.

300 people, most of them dead, with their names, the places where they lived, and professions, set the tone for digging into the stories of this family. We will speak about many mothers. Mothers of mothers of mothers of daughters. And, of course, about husbands and fathers, about another time and about this place that has been existing as  Portugal. Stories that, oddly, can still keep us awake.

The Castro Women is Raquel Castro ‘s new creation, along the lines of previous shows such as Os Dias São Connosco (The days be with us), Turma de 95 (Class of 95) or A Morte de Raquel (Rachel’s Death)
